This Symposium will bring together 300+ individuals from the administrative justice community from all parts of Canada and internationally.

The program will feature keynote presentations by thought leaders as well as workshops and roundtables focussed on providing new strategies and practical skills that will increase our effectiveness and help us achieve excellence. Among the topics to be discussed are:
  • The application of international conventions in decision-making by domestic tribunals
  • Truth and Reconciliation Commissions around the world: comparing experiences and results
  • Inter-cultural awareness and skills as a core competency for modern tribunals
  • Access to justice for self-represented individuals, including persons with disabilities, and others from historically disadvantaged groups
  • Ethical challenges and adjudicative decision-making
  • The use of mediation by tribunals to resolve disputes more quickly and with less damage to relationships
  • Inquisitorial versus adversarial adjudication: what can we learn from each other?
  • Innovative uses of technology to deliver administrative justice more efficiently
  • Mental health and building resilience in dealing with the stressors of the job
From arrival to departure, you'll be immersed in dialogue and transformative ideas with innovative leaders and fellow learners.

The Symposium would not be complete without networking events offering you time to connect with other high performers in the administrative justice community, or reconnect with those you only “speak” to digitally!

Mark your calendars and join us at the Hotel Bonaventure Montreal, May 26-28, 2019.

Get ready to Connect, Learn, and Be Inspired! It will also be fun!
