Goals

To carry out its mission, CCAT focuses its work on the following goals:

1. Enhancing and expanding contact among members of the administrative justice community

  • Improving communications and regional contacts among tribunals and members;
  • Acting as a national forum through the annual national or international conference, newsletters and publications, training initiatives, and its website

2. Promoting awareness of the role and importance of administrative justice in every day life

  • Working with CCAT members, organizations, and governments to develop and promote administrative justice;
  • working with regional bodies and chapters to raise awareness of tribunals, tribunal appointees and staff, its members, and the public about issues in the field of administrative justice

3. Speaking out on issues of importance to the administrative justice community

  • Acting as a spokesperson on broad issues affecting appointments, tenure, independence, and education of tribunal appointees and staff;
  • Carrying out and supporting research and policy development on issues having an impact on administrative justice, tribunals, tribunal appointees, its members, and the public;
  • Proposing initiatives and making representations on matters of legislative and policy reforms having an impact on administrative justice, tribunals, tribunal appointees and staff, and the public.

4. Providing support and services of value to its membership

  • Working to increase the knowledge of its members and to identify non-financial resources available to them;
  • Promoting, encouraging, and working in partnership with other organizations and chapters to ensure educational opportunities exist for tribunals, tribunal appointees and staff, and its members;
  • Working in partnership with tribunals, tribunal appointees and staff, and its members over administrative justice issues
